    The function was created using:

    CREATE FUNCTION substr AS ‘com.nexr.platform.hive.udf.UDFSubstrForOracle’ USING JAR ‘hdfs:///user/bbm_analytics_app/nexr-hive-udf-0.2-SNAPSHOT.jar’;

    It worked fine for months but now is giving problems so I want to drop it as I dont think it was really needed. I cant drop it.

    use mygroup;
    drop function substr;
    drop function mygroup.substr;
    show functions; <-Always shows it but not sure if its the UDF or the built in one.

    I get the error when I use it via hiveserver2.
    mpala.error.HiveServer2Error: Error while compiling statement: FAILED: SemanticException [Error 10014]: Line 1:7 Wrong arguments ’10’: The UDF implementation class ‘com.nexr.platform.hive.udf.UDFSubstrForOracle’ is not present in the class path.

    How to drop it or perhaps I can correct the above error.
    We are stumped here…

    Thanks

    Daryl

I have attended Siva’s Spark and Scala training. He is good in presentation skills and explaining technical concepts easily to everyone in the group. He is having excellent real time experience and provided enough use cases to understand each concepts. Duration of the course and time management is awesome. Happy that I found a right person on time to learn Spark. Thanks Siva!!!
